Disney “Traveling Around The World” – Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland – Part 5 Dining and Events

Welcome back “World” travelers! As we get ready to head out of town, lets take a look at a couple of places to shoot off a little steam, fill our bellies, and bag up some goodies.

Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade – Step right up and take your best shot here. This shootin’ gallery simulates a shootout in Tombstone, Arizona, over Boot Hill in 1850. The gallery includes a jail, hotel, bank, and cemetery with targets which are animated when shot. There are a total of 97 targets in the shooting gallery. Originally, the guns shot lead pellets, but were replaced with infra-red light rifles due to the maintenance costs of repainting the targets almost every night. Cost: $1.00 for 35 shots

Now that we are shootin’ straight, let’s go lookin’ for some grub!

Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe is one of the most popular counter service restaurants in the Magic Kingdom. Pecos Bill Cafe serves hamburgers, BBQ pork sandwiches, Chicken Wraps, Taco Salad and a Caesar Salad with chicken, but it also has a very generous condiment bar that includes things like grilled onions, sauteed mushrooms, and cheese sauce for your dishes. They also serve a veggie burger, and for the kids they offer Turkey and PB&J sandwiches. Sides include Fries, Onion Rings, and Chili-Cheese Fries. There is ample seating in the various adjoining rooms and nooks and crannies, so go ahead and walk around to find a nice table. Outdoor seating is also available.

If your in a rush and want something quick you can pull your horse right up to the Golden Oak Outpost. It is just outside of Pecos Bill’s on the way to Splash Mountain. The menu is limited (see below) but you can get in and out quick. There is no seating, but you can walk across and grab a seat at Pecos Bill’s if you need to get off your feet.

Now that you have stuffed yer belly lets head over to the Briar Patch and do a little shoppin’. The Briar Patch is located over by Splash Mountain and is the best shop in the area. Inside you will find a wide variety of Magic Kingdom souvenirs and Splash Mountain merchandise.

If you are into Disney Pin Trading you need to stop into the Frontier Trading Post. This western trading post has a large selection of pins to trade or buy.

Well friends, that wraps it up for our travels around Frontierland. Be sure to join us next time as we make our way over to Liberty Square, where we’re sure to encounter some spooky friends!
