Disney “Traveling Around The World”- Magic Kingdom’s New Fantasyland-Part 9 – Be Our Guest Restaurant

Welcome back “World” travelers! I hope you’ve worked up an appetite because we are about to embark upon Disney’s newest restaurant, Be Our Guest Restaurant.

This magnificent restaurant is located inside the Beast’s Castle, and is themed to the Beauty and the Beast movie. During the day, lunch is served quick service style, with no reservations required. During the evening, the restaurant switches to table service dinner, where reservations are required.

As you walk through the gates into the Enchanted Forest, you’ll feel like you’ve just stepped into a storybook scene. Then as you cross the stone bridge and step into the entrance of the Be Our Guest restaurant you realize that you are outside the castle walls and about to walk inside.

Once inside you will be amazed by the beauty and the immense amout of work that has gone into creating what I am going to call a masterpiece. Inside, the beauty and details continue as you enter the lobby.

There are three dining areas inside the castle, the Ballroom, the West Wing, and the Rose Gallery, each one as magnificent as the next. The largest of the rooms is the Ballroom. The entrance is protected by two huge minotaurs. Step inside and you will be amazed by the beauty of the room, as you take in all of the details, including the elaborate murals, the beautiful ceiling, and the gorgeous chandeliers.

The West wing is the smallest of the dining rooms, but full of details, with the focus on the portrait hanging over the huge fireplace that changes from Beast to human form. The centerpiece of the room is the Enchanted Rose, a replica of the one from the movie. And just like the rose in the film, this interactive rose sheds its petals as you continue your meal.

Last, and certainly not least is the Rose Gallery room. The beautiful centerpiece in this room is the large music box that has Belle and the Beast dancing around on top of. The room is lined with portraits and tapestries from the movie, and the ceiling looks like it’s been taken straight from a french castle.

Be Our Guest restaurant is the first to offer both Counter Service meals and Table Service meals in the same restaurant. Counter Service meals will be served during lunch and then Table Service meals will be served during dinner. Reservations are not needed for lunch, but are definitely suggested for dinner, since this is sure to be a popular place for guests to want to eat.

The menu at Be Our Guest features classic French inspired dishes, and is the first restaurant within Magic Kingdom to offer a wine and beer menu to accompany the meal.

Sample menu items may include:

  • Sandwiches and salads at lunchtime, including the classic croque monsieur (ham and cheese sandwich), tuna Niçoise salad and grilled steak sandwich with garlic butter spread—plus, of course, pommes frites (French fries)
  • Heartier fare at dinner, including braised pork, grilled strip steak with pommes frites, French onion soup and vegetable quiche, accompanied by a selection of wine and beer that complements the French-inspired cuisine

Dessert is presented and served tableside, offering an array of gourmet cupcakes and cream puffs, and if you’re feeling adventurous you can try THE GREY STUFF. According to Lumiere, it’s truly delicious. Don’t believe me? Ask the dishes!

Just keep in mind that the Grey Stuff has to be requested!  The Grey Stuff is reserved for those celebrating special occasions, such as a birthday or anniversary. Those who don’t have a chance to sample it shouldn’t get too disappointed, as it’s definitely not a highlight of the Be Our Guest dining experience. Also know that it is FREE! (Limited to one per table), and it is a beautiful dessert (the writing is done in chocolate)

Everything in this impressive new restaurant has been so thoughtfully planned out and prepared, from the delicious food, to the decor and service provided by the servers. The elaborate theming and attention to details from the movie make this a magical experience for the whole family! This is one meal that you will want to take your time to savor not only the delectable food, but also the unique atmosphere and details that will make you feel as if you’ve stepped into the magical world of Belle and Beast. It’s truly a Disney masterpiece that’s destined to be a popular restaurant for years to come. So come on in and “Be Our Guest”.
