Disney World Dining – Spotlight of the Week – Victoria & Albert’s

Since we’re celebrating Valentine’s Day this week, I thought it would be a good opportunity to take a look at the finest restaurant at Walt Disney World Resort. Not only is Victoria & Albert’s considered the best restaurant at Walt Disney World, but also the best in Orlando. Sounds like the perfect place to wine and dine your Valentine’s sweetheart!

Victoria & Albert’s restaurant is located in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and offers a unique dinner menu of exceptional, contemporary American cuisine served with unparalleled charm and elegance. VictoriaAlberts

From the moment you walk through the door of Victoria & Albert’s, you will be captivated with the setting, the knowledgeable staff, the fresh flowers, the fine tableware, and most of all, the extraordinary food. Whether you enjoy seven courses in the Dining Room or ten to twelve at the Chef’s Table or in Queen Victoria’s Room, each bite is supreme cuisine at its finest.

Victoria & Albert’s is a 13-year recipient of the prestigious AAA Five Diamond award. This Signature Dining restaurant also serves fine cuisine with wine pairings from an award-winning cellar. Victoria & Albert’s restaurant offers an intimate 2-hour to 2.5-hour dining experience in the midst of romantic splendor. Butler service, personalized menus and a long-stem rose for each lady are just a few of the touches that creates this amazing experience.

The Chef’s Table Dinner at Victoria & Albert’s goes a step further by offering you the opportunity to go behind the scenes and dine at a special table located inside the kitchen. From this unique vantage point, you can watch and speak with the chef and staff as they prepare a 7-course meal brimming with ingredients culled fresh from the world market just for you. During the approximate 3-hour dining experience, delight as the chef offers you culinary tidbits and tasting samples, catering the mouth-watering meal to you and your party’s dietary preferences. A wait staff of 2-a butler and a maid-are on hand to tend to your every whim. And with the Royal Wine Pairing, the sommelier selects superb vintages for each portion of your unique meal. Chef’s Table Dinner at Victoria & Albert’s seats only one party per evening at 5:30 p.m. Table size can accommodate up to 10 people, but reservations can be made for parties as small as 2. Reservations are required and can be made up to 180 days in advance.

The Food

This is one of the plushest, fine-dining experiences in all of Florida. Along with the fine dining, you can expect that this is quite an expensive meal as well. The seven-course, prix-fixe menu changes daily, and you’d do well to supplement the $125 tab with a $60 wine pairing. Appetizer choices might include Maine lobster with watermelon radish, kohlrabi (a type of cabbage), and vanilla aïoli; and entrées may feature duck three ways with salsify (a root vegetable with an oyster-like flavor) and squash purée followed by Japanese Wagyu strip loin with oxtail jus. For most of the year, there are two seatings, at 5:45 and 9 pm. In July and August, however, there’s generally just one seating at 6:30 pm. For a more deluxe experience, reserve a table in the intimate Queen Victoria Room, or at the Chef’s Table, which will add more courses and numbers to your tab.
