Is Disney World Making Plans To Add An Immersive New Star Wars Luxury Resort?

Disney’s Star Wars Land may be getting more than just new attractions, a restaurant and shops – at least at Walt Disney World. According to WFTV 9, a recent survey outlining an immersive Star Wars Resort experience, aimed at taking premium experiences to the next level, was sent to fans to measure the level of interest in such a resort.

The survey describes the offer as an “all-inclusive, 2 night immersive resort experience at Walt Disney World,” at a resort designed to look and feel as if you’re onboard an actual Star Wars Starship. The survey includes concept art and details about the experience including a pool area & water garden, fitness area, on-board cantina, and robotic droid Butlers, as well as the following:

  • Be surrounded in a continuous, story-driven entertainment experience as it unfolds over the course of the 2-night stay
  • Have personal interactions with Star Wars characters and live performers throughout the starship (experience the story or simply observe the action according to personal preference)
  • Engage in the story with programs such as flight training, ship exploration, lightsaber training, and personalized secret missions (both on the starship and throughout the Star Wars themed planet)

Pricing is noted as $900 – $1000 per person, and includes breakfast, lunch, table service dinner, live entertainment, and access to the Star Wars themed land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The addition of some type of hotel space has been frequently rumored for Star Wars Land at Walt Disney World, with the park having ample space in the surrounding area to build such a venue.

While the survey was sent out from a third party company, and not Disney, a Disney spokesperson released this statement regarding the survey:

“We know our guests love all things in the world of Star Wars, and we’re continually exploring new ideas and gathering guest feedback as we develop plans to bring Star Wars to life at Disneyland Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Some of these ideas come to fruition, while many do not.”

Keep in mind, this is just a survey at this point, which means the idea is being considered but is by no means a sure thing. However, with the popularity of Star Wars, the scale of investment being put into Star Wars land and the fact that concept art coupled with the inclusion of Star Wars land was included in the survey suggests that the idea is being considered very seriously.
