Character Meals

Character Meals

untitled

Having a meal with Disney Characters is most definitely a treat for both young and old alike. This up close and personal experience has become very popular. Character meals are available in all four major theme parks, as well as many of the Disney resorts. Meals are offered in three styles: buffet, family style, and pre-plated. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals are available at different locations. Characters also differ from location to location and are always subject to change. As you sit eating your meal, the characters will stop by each table and interact with the guests, pose for photographs, and sign autographs. The experience is a memorable one and gives guests the opportunity to interact with the characters up close on a personal level. Be sure to have your cameras and autograph books ready to go, since the characters do have to make it around to all of the tables to greet each guest. Here is a current list of character meals:

(Hint: Be sure to make reservations well in advance of your trip if you can, since many character meals book quickly!)

1900 Park Fare – Cinderella’s Gala Feast –  This is a wonderful dinner buffet, hosted by Cinderella and Prince Charming. You will also enjoy the company of Lady Tremaine and her daughters, Anastasia and Drizella. This is such a fun favorite character meal, mostly due to the personalities and character interaction of Lady Tremaine and her daughters. They really get into their characters and you will get some great photos if you ask them to pose for you.  Cinderella and Prince Charming also dance together in the beautiful dining room. The buffet is elegant with assorted salads, breads, and soups, including Chilled Strawberry Soup. Polynesian Resort

Ohana’s Best Friends Breakfast featuring Lilo and Stitch –  This is another one of my favorites, since the food is wonderful!  Located in the Ohana restaurant inside the Polynesian Resort, this spacious restaurant is lined with windows with excellent views of the Magic Kingdom. The tropical setting is a perfect place for your hosts, Lilo and Stitch. They are joined by Mickey and Pluto, decked out in their Hawaiian gear as they come by to take pictures and sign autographs. The meal is served family style, but is all you can eat. The fresh fruit platter and the Ohana breakfast bread comes out first. Then they bring out a huge skillet filled with sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, mickey waffles, and the best fried potatoes you’ve ever eaten. And as a fun treat for the kids, Mickey, Pluto, Lilo & Stitch form a character parade and pass out maracas to the kids as they march around the restaurant with them. So the views, great food, and fun character interaction make this meal tops on my list! Prices range from $12 -$22.

A special feature of this character breakfast is its breads, especially the simply named ‘Ohana Breakfast Bread’. The sweet bread is little slice of tropical paradise with its mix of coconut and pineapple!
