Disney’s All-Star Movie Resort

 This resort has 1920 rooms  themed after five classic Disney movies. Toy Story, The Love Bug, Fantasia, The Mighty Ducks, and 101 Dalmatians. Each area is decorated with large icons from that movie.  For example, the Toy Story section features a 27-foot-tall bucket of Green Army Men, a 30-foot-tall Woody icon and a 47-foot-tall Buzz Lightyear icon. The buildings are painted in bright colors and covered with playful details and hidden surprises. Great photo opportunities at every turn.

Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort

 

  This is a 1,920-room hotel split into five sections featuring giant icons that celebrate the fun of sports.  The sections are named Home Run Hotel, Touchdown, Hoops Hotel, Center Court and Surfs Up. A great place for the sports enthusiasts.

Disney’s Pop Century Resort

 This 2880 room resort features giant icons that pay tribute to 20th century pop culture. The five sections here represent the decades of the 1950’s, 1960’s, 1970’s, 1980’s and the 1990’s.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

 This is the newest of Disney’s value resorts. With 1120 family suites that will sleep six and 864 classic rooms there will be room for all families.  The sections will be designed after The Lion King, Cars, Finding Nemo, and The Little Mermaid.  If you like being in a Disney movie then this is the place for you.

 With 2112 rooms the Caribbean Beach is the largest resort on Walt Disney World property . Spread out  over 200 beautifully landscaped acres there are five villages named for different Caribbean islands. Barbados, Jamaica, Martinique, Aruba, and Trinidad North and Trinidad South. Each with a different  brightly colored roof’.  The villages surround at the 45 acre Barefoot Bay.  It is a great place to relax with the hammocks and secluded benches.

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort

This is an American Southwest themed resort set on a 22 acre lake featuring rustic-stucco buildings, Mexican-style bungalows and festive villages with Spanish terracotta roofs.  The 3 areas are the Casitas, the Ranchos, and the Cabanas. There are 1967 guest rooms and a convention center.

Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter

 

This resort is inspired by the historic French Quarter in New Orleans. The fun and frolic of Mardi Gras combined with the romance and charm of the French Quarter is present here.  The rooms are situated along little streets decorated with wrought iron fences.  Take time to take romantic strolls along the Sassagoula River for some added charm. This resort was formally called the Port Orleans Resort.

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside

 This resort formerly named Dixie Landings was inspired by rural Louisiana and is nestled alongside the picturesque Sassagoula River. There a two themed areas  Magnolia Bend and Alligator Bayou.  Magnolia Bend is themed after southern mansions and Alligator Bayou is themed after quaint backwoods cottages.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

 This African Savanna inspired lodge is in the midst of a 43-acre wildlife preserve. It is among the best themed resorts at Walt Disney World.  It is designed so that zebras, giraffes, antelopes, elks, gazelles, wildebeest’s and exotic birds come incredibly close to the resort. If you want the best views of the wildlife book a Savannah room with a view. The Animal Kingdom Lodge is divided into two main areas: Jambo House, which is the main guest resort area, and Kidani Village which is the Disney Vacation Club villas.  Also featured at the lodge are the Resort’s 2 award-winning restaurants, Jiko-The Cooking Place and Boma-Flavors of Africa. Disney’s Beach Club Resort

 This 576 guest room resort is themed after a New England style seaside summer home at the turn of the century.   It is beautifully decorated with the white wicker furniture, hardwood floors and high ceilings.  Stormalong Bay—a water wonderland located within the Resort—features waterfalls, a lazy circular river, a water slide, an elevated tanning deck and Hurricane Hanna’s Grill, a poolside counter-service restaurant and bar.  Also available is the Ship Shape Health Club which is open 24 hours a day and offers saunas, steam rooms, and massage therapy.  You can head down to the beach,  head to one of the 3 quiet pools, or enjoy one of the 7 spas across the resort grounds. In the evening you may want to enjoy the Yachtsman Steakhouse where you can watch the Chef’s prepare steaks, seafood,chicken and lamb dishes to your pleasing.  The Beach Club Resort is in walking distance to Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Boardwalk area.  There are also boats available to these locations.

Disney’s Boardwalk Inn Resort

 Capturing the charm and elegance of 1940’s Atlantic City Boardwalk the Boardwalk Inn is surely to impress.  The resort sets alongside Crescent Lake between Epcot and the Disney Studios. Be sure to take in lively sights and sounds of midway games and performance artists all along the quarter-mile, Coney Island-style boardwalk.  The resort really comes alive at night with the music from the clubs and the excitement of the midway games.  Be sure to visit the ESPN Club.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort

This lake side ultra modern resort is one of two original Walt Disney World Resorts.  The futuristic look of the Contemporary Resort is obvious when you see the Monorail run straight through the main building.   The main monorail will transport you to the Magic Kingdom. You can also catch the resort monorail to the Polynesian and Grand Floridian resorts.  At the Ticket and Transportation Center stop you can catch the monorail over to Epcot.  Buses are available to get you to the Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney and the Disney water parks. There is  also a water ferry that transports guests to the neighboring Wilderness Lodge.

The resort has a marina, pools, restaurants, recreational facilities, a health club, tennis courts, and convention facilities.  This is also home to Chef Mickey, one of the most popular character breakfasts at Walt Disney World.  The spectacular views are yet another advantage of staying at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.  Most guest rooms enjoy beautiful views of the Seven Seas Lagoon, Bay Lake or the Magic Kingdom.

Disney’s Grand Floridan Resort and Spa

 From it breathing views of the Magic Kingdom to its stately Victorian style architecture this is truly Disney’s grandest resort.  It was modeled after San Diego’s elegant Hotel Del Coronado.  From its location to its elegant charm, it’s easy to see why it’s considered Disney’s best. As you step off the monorail station that has been designed to look like a Victorian train station, you walk into a breathtaking 5-story atrium lobby.  Take a walk down the beautiful winding staircase or ride the open-caged elevator down to the main floor and experience all the beauty of this elegant resort.  Outside you can take in the views of the Seven Seas Lagoon, wedding pavilion, marina, or Cinderella’s Castle just across the lagoon.  At night take a walk down to the beach to watch the nightly fireworks or the water pageant parade. Enjoy the world-class spa or make use of the state -of-the-art exercise equipment at the Health Club or enjoy one of the resorts 2 beautiful pools.  You can also dine in one of the resorts six restaurant’s or shop in one of several of the shops located inside the resort. This is truly and upscale vacation you will not forget.

Disney’s Polynesian Resort

This is one of the two resorts that opened in 1971 with the Contemporary  Resort along with the Magic Kingdom.  Located on the beautiful Seven Seas Lagoon the Polynesian sits directly across the lagoon from the Magic Kingdom. The resort is a tropical paradise with lush vegetation, koi ponds, and white-sand beaches celebrating the spirit of the South Pacific. The main lobby is called the Great Ceremonial House.  This 3 story atrium has cascading waterfalls and over 75 varieties of tropical and subtropical plants.  There are eleven 2 and 3 story village longhouses that surround the Great Ceremonial House.  There are 847 rooms decorated in rich tropical colors and furnished in bamboo and rattan.  At night there is a torch-lighting ceremony that includes a traditional fire-knife dance, authentic drumming and chants.

There are also great shopping areas and several restaurants.  O’hana has the Lilo and Stitch character breakfast and is a wonderful experience for the entire family.  It is also home to Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show. This Polynesian luau feast is presented in an open-air dining theater.  This exciting show combines traditional Polynesian music with the music from the movie Lilo and Stitch.  The fire dancers and hula dancers put on an incredible show.

The volcano themed pool is a perfect to cool off and relax.  There is also a marina where you can rent watercraft to explore seven seas lagoon.  Another major appeal of the resort is it’s location.  You can hop on the monorail and be at the Magic Kingdom in minutes. If you are looking for a tropical getaway then the Polynesian is the place for you.

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort

   This resort is themed after Early American Park Service Lodges from the turn of the 20th century.  Overlooking Bay Lake this 8 story log-structured building is one of the best of the Disney Resorts.  The centerpiece of the Wilderness Lodge is the main lobby.  With it’s 8 story open balcony room, two 55-foot totem poles, four huge tepee chandeliers. and the massive 3-sided 82-foot tall stone fireplace the lobby is magnificent.   A bubbling hot spring originates in the lobby and appears to continue on outside where it is transformed into a roaring waterfall that “pours” into the swimming area.    Behind the pool be sure to follow the path to catch the eruption of Fire Rock Geyser, fashioned after Yellowstone National Park’s Old Faithful, with its plume of water jetting 120 feet into the air.

Its 727 Guest rooms offer themes of wildlife, nature and Native American designs, and include Honeymoon Suites featuring marble whirlpool tubs. The Disney Wilderness Lodge has the standard Disney Deluxe Resort amenities. There is transportation to the parks, a marina (where you can rent the Sea Raycers and go fishing on Bay Lake). There are bike rentals, a jogging trail , there’s even a regular sing around the campfire with Chip and Dale.

 Be sure to check out the special guided tours of the resort, one concentrates on the architecture and landscaping, and the other is a tour that allows you to sample some of the culinary delights found in the lodge restaurants.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

   This 5-story, 630 room resort is located along the shore of Crescent Lake. It is slightly larger than its sister resort the Beach Club.  It is themed after the New England resorts from the late 1800’s.  The Yacht Club has nautical look and feel with its hardwood floors and brass accents.  The location of this resort makes it very popular.  It’s a 5 minute walk to Epcot, a 3 minute walk to the Boardwalk.  The Disney Studios are also close enough distance to walk or take a shout boat ride.  Buses are available to visit the Magic Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom parks.

Behind the Resort is Stormalong Bay  which is a small water park that spans 3 acres, with water slides emerging from the life-size replica of a wrecked ship, lagoons, a slow river to float along in inner tubes and a sand-bottom pool.  This area is shared with the Beach Club Resort next door. Over at Crescent Lake, Guests can rent a variety of watercraft  from the Bayside Marina.

There are 20 suites and 71 concierge suites for those who prefer a little luxury with their vacation.  Some of the suites  include a lavishly furnished sitting room area and separate bedroom with a king sized bed.  The large bathroom includes a Jacuzzi tub, a vanity area, a television and a walk-in shower.

Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

 This new Disney Vacation Club resort is situated right next to the classic Contemporary Resort. Views of the Magic Kingdom and Bay Lake and a short walk to the monorail makes this an exciting and convenient place to stay.  The Bay Lake Towers has a roof-top lounge, a fireworks viewing deck and a sky bridge connecting it to the Contemporary Resort.  The restaurants, health club, tennis courts, and other recreational facilities are shared with Disney’s Contemporary Resort.  The zero entry Bay Cove pool comes complete with a water slide, a whirlpool and an interactive children’s water play area.
Disney’s Bay Lake Towers offers studio units as well as one, two and three bedroom accommodations.  Most feature a fully equipped kitchens, washer and dryers and separate bedrooms.  With it’s at home environment Bay Lake Tower is sure to please.
