  1.  When Walt Disney World opened its gates on October 1, 1971, adult admission was only $3.50.
  2.   Walt Disney World  is over 30,500 acres (about 47 square miles). Currently, only 7,000 acres are developed though, and 8,200 acres of the land owned by Walt Disney World will never be developed upon because it is a designated wildlife preserve.
  3. Both the Carousel of Progress and It’s A Small World attractions made their debut in the 1964-65 New York’s World Fair.
  4. The estimated annual attendance at the Magic Kingdon Park is 17.2 million, followed by Epcot with 10.9 million, Disney Studios with 9.7 million, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom with 9.5 million.
  5. Cinderella’s Golden Carousel was renamed Prince Charming Regal Carousel. This is the oldest ride at The Magic Kingdom. Built in 1917 by the Philadelphia Toboggan Co., the carousel first called the Detroit Palace Garden Park home. It was relocated to New Jersey for the Maplewood Olympic Park. Disney Imagineers discovered it and performed an extensive renovation—adding painted scenes from Cinderella and restoring or replacing the horses.
  6. The replica of the Liberty Bell that can be found in the center of Liberty Square was built from the same authentic cast as the original Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
  7. The former Mickey’s Toon Town Fair was once known as Mickey’s Birthdayland and Mickey’s Starland.
  8. The design of Main Street USA was loosely based on Walt Disney’s hometown of Marceline, Missouri.
  9. The icon of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park, The Tree of Life, stands 14 stories tall, 50 feet wide, and features more than 300 animal carvings.
  10. Spaceship Earth, the centerpiece icon of Epcot, weighs 16 million pounds, measures 165 feet in diameter, and encompasses 2.2 million cubic feet of space. The outer skin of Spaceship Earth is made up of 11,324 aluminum and plastic-alloy triangles.
