Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival – 2014

The Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival is a Spring Special Event, held annually at the Epcot theme park in Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. The park is filled with Disney character topiaries, a colorful array of flowers, special themed gardens, live music concerts, and special presentations. This HGTV sponsored event is a kaleidoscope of exotic flowers and plants on display in true Disney style. Even the kids will enjoy walking around Epcot and seeing some of their favorite Disney characters fashioned out of beautiful flowers and shrubs. This is a wonderful event that really shows off the magic of Disney!

Designer Presentations

Guests of the Festival can see their favorite HGTV and DIY stars on “The Designers’ Stage Presented by HGTV” at the Festival Center each Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the Festival at noon and 3 p.m. The complete lineup includes:

Topiaries

Each year, the Disney World Gardening and Landscaping teams fill Epcot with plants, flowers, and topiaries that sparkle under the Florida sunshine. You will always find Disney’s most famous characters of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy in topiary form, as well as several of the Disney princesses. For 2014 there will be over 75 topiaries, as well as newly themed gardens, interactive play areas and informational displays.

Each year at the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, dozens of sights and sounds are planted for parents and kids alike—from displays featuring popular Disney characters to garden play areas intended just for wee buds—giving the entire family the chance to enjoy the occasion together… and learn something special along the way too!

Some of these unforgettable experiences include:

  • Garden Passports: Pick up a Garden Passport and get stamped at stops along the way! Passports can be found at the Festival Welcome Center, at any Disney Vacation Club Information Center throughout the Park and at all Outdoor Kitchens too.
  • Mater’s Parts, Plants & Play Garden: Start your engines and play at this exciting stop located at Test Track Walkway. While there, spot a few of your favorite Cars characters—including Lightning McQueen and Mater.
  • Mike & Sulley’s Monstrous Garden: Scare up some fun around this vibrant play area on Imagination Walkway where Monsters University characters like Mike and Sulley are saluting their alma monster.
  • Backyard Play Garden – Presented by GoGo squeeZ™: Join in all sorts of outdoor activity where kids can take part in stimulating activities that inspire playful, active and healthy living—for Guests both young and young at heart!
  • Spring-Fresh Food and Beverages: Enjoy a tempting array of food and beverages offerings from Outdoor Kitchens around the World Showcase Promenade!
  • Tinker Bell’s Butterfly House – Presented by HGTV: Presented by HGTV: Don’t miss the chance to catch a glimpse of Tinker Bell’s butterfly friends as they flutter about at this magical stop. Location closes at dusk.

Festival Center

Harvest a series of events at the Festival Center, and pick up a Garden Passport too!

Whether you’re looking to get your most difficult gardening questions answered, or you just want to gather a few new design ideas and planting secrets, there are dozens of exciting reasons to familiarize yourself with the Festival Center, including:

  • Intermissions Café – For a special way to dig into the day, or perhaps turn over your evening, stop by Intermissions Café, which features a fine selection of wine, cheese, wraps and salads.
  • HGTV Theater – Hear tips from the experts at HGTV and see how Disney Horticulture goes about growing the magic in “The Making of the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival.”
  • Planting Pointers – Each day at 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM, join the experts from IFAS at the University of Florida as they present a daily assortment of topics and ideas to help your technique grow.
  • Ask an Expert – From 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, collect answers for your deeply rooted gardening questions, courtesy of the “Master Gardeners” from IFAS at the University of Florida.
  • Greenhouse Stage – Drop by daily at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM to meet with gardening specialists as they share their knowledge and help you plant their expertise in your garden back home.
  • Designers’ Stage Presented by HGTV – Pollinate your passions with a duo of different experiences! Monday through Thursday, hydrate your thirst for knowledge during entertaining seminars led by nationally recognized garden VIPs. Then, Friday through Sunday, seed your interests at informative events presented by HGTV personalities—taking place at 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM.

And while you’re there, be sure to pick up a Garden Passport to get stamped at your stops along the way! Passports can be found at the Festival Welcome Center, at any Disney Vacation Club Information Center throughout the Park and at all Outdoor Kitchens too.

Remember: Each Outdoor Kitchen has its own stamp, complete with a unique design. Let the journey begin!

Epcot theme park admission is required. Most Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival events are included with admission to Epcot theme park. Availability is limited for some events. Events may be rescheduled or cancelled at any time.
